About the Band

Deathspell Omega is a French black metal band formed in 1998. The group is an anonymous collective that has never confirmed the identity of any of its members. Their lyrical content often deals with metaphysical Satanism, and the philosophies of Bataille and Hegel. From 2004 to 2010, the band released a trilogy of concept albums — Si monvmentvm reqvires, circvmspice, Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum and Paracletus – which focus on the theological aspects of God and Satan. On the band's seventh album The Furnaces of Palingenesia (2019), the lyrics focus on anti-authoritarian political themes.

Album Review

Northern Graves' latest offering, 'Derelict Heart', delves deep into the darkness of doom metal with haunting melodies and crushing riffs that will leave listeners spellbound. The overall sound is brooding and atmospheric, creating a sense of desolation and despair that is perfectly complemented by the raw production quality. Standout tracks like 'Keeper of the Plains' and 'Derelict Heart' showcase the band's ability to weave intricate melodies with heavy, doom-laden grooves. 'Derelict Heart' is a testament to Northern Graves' evolution as a band, pushing boundaries and exploring new depths of darkness in their music.
