Black Sabbath’s final show is shaping up to be a historic event with the recent addition of Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Rival Sons to the lineup. The legendary band’s grand farewell show, scheduled for 5th July at Birmingham’s Villa Park, will feature Black Sabbath’s original lineup reuniting for one last performance, including Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.
Joining the star-studded event will be Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, and Mastodon, among others. This gathering of metal icons promises to be a dream come true for fans, with festival director Tom Morello predicting it to be “the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
In addition to the band performances, a special “supergroup” will take the stage, featuring a lineup of musical stars like Slash, Fred Durst, Billy Corgan, Wolfgang Van Halen, Lzzy Hale, Jonathan Davis, and Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine. The event will mark Black Sabbath’s first performance with its original lineup in two decades, creating a buzz within the rock and metal community.
While Ozzy Osbourne is expected to play a short solo set before joining his Sabbath bandmates, he revealed that he won’t be performing the entire set with Black Sabbath. Due to health reasons, Osbourne’s involvement will be limited, with musical guests filling in for him during the performance. Despite his health struggles, Osbourne’s iconic voice remains as strong as ever, as confirmed by his wife, Sharon Osbourne.
American actor Jason Momoa has been announced as the host for the night, adding to the excitement surrounding the event. The show aims to raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s charities, reflecting the charitable spirit of the music community.
Sharon Osbourne expressed gratitude for the artists’ willingness to participate in celebrating Ozzy’s career and supporting charitable causes. The overwhelming demand for tickets resulted in a sold-out show within just 16 minutes, showcasing the enduring popularity and influence of Black Sabbath and the participating acts.
As the music world eagerly anticipates this historic event, the addition of Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Rival Sons to Black Sabbath’s farewell show promises an unforgettable night of rock and metal music, uniting generations of fans in a celebration of iconic music and lasting legacies.
