About the Band

Mourning Noise is an American horror- and hardcore punk band from Lodi, New Jersey, notable for drummer Steve Zing. Active around the time of the Misfits, Mourning Noise were strongly influenced by the Misfits as drummer Steve Zing lived very close to Jerry Only and Doyle's house and Steve went to high school with Doyle. Their music was typically fast and melodic. Mourning Noise released only a small amount of material, typically as 7-inch singles, apart from the 1998 collection album Death Trip Delivery. Steve later went on to play for Samhain, Son of Sam, The Undead, Chyna, Doomtree, and later, Danzig.

Album Review

Mourning Dawn's latest offering, 'The Foam of Despair', is a haunting and powerful journey through the depths of despair and pain. The album's overall sound combines elements of doom, black metal, and post-metal to create a dense and atmospheric sonic landscape. The production quality is top-notch, with each instrument and vocal line coming through clearly yet retaining a raw and visceral edge. Standout tracks include the melancholic 'Blue Pain', the epic 'Suzerain', and the crushing 'Midnight Sun'. These songs showcase the band's ability to craft emotionally charged and dynamic compositions that leave a lasting impact. 'The Foam of Despair' fits seamlessly into Mourning Dawn's career, further solidifying their reputation as masters of dark and introspective metal music.
