About the Band

StormblΓ₯st (English: Stormblown) is the second studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released on 25 January 1996 through Cacophonous Records, re-released in 2001 by Century Media, and completely re-recorded in 2005, released as StormblΓ₯st MMV (see below). It was Dimmu Borgir's last album sung entirely in the band's native Norwegian, as they would change to English afterwards. This is also the first album where Tjodalv switched to drums as opposed to guitar, the first where Shagrath is on vocals, though he took on the role of backing vocals, and this album was the bands last album with Silenoz on lead vocals, with him later switching more to a backing vocal role with the band.

Album Review

DΓΈdsferd's latest offering, 'Wrath', is a relentless onslaught of blackened heavy metal that showcases the band's raw intensity and uncompromising attitude. The album is a sonic journey through themes of decay, lust, and spiritual lethargy, with each track delivering a powerful punch of aggression and emotion. Standout songs like 'Raging Lust of Creation' and 'Failure Ablaze in Your Existence' showcase the band's ability to blend blistering riffs with haunting melodies, creating a truly captivating listening experience. The production quality on 'Wrath' is top-notch, allowing every instrument to shine through the chaos and adding to the overall atmosphere of the album. This release solidifies DΓΈdsferd's position as one of the leading forces in the blackened heavy metal scene, and is a must-listen for fans of extreme music.
