About the Band
Corvus Corax is a German band known for playing Medieval rock using authentic instruments. Their name is the Latin name for the common raven. The band was formed in 1989 by Castus Rabensang, Wim (Venustus) and Meister Selbfried ("Master Selfpeace") in East Germany. The band often uses bagpipes as the solo instrument; their live performances attract attention with the bizarre look of the musicians being reminiscent of ancient Greek myths: half-naked, dressed in unusual clothes, wearing primitive tribal decorations, often tattooed. Today the band consists of seven members: Castus Rabensang ("Castus Ravensong"), Xandru, Norri (formerly known as Harmann der Drescher), Hatz ("Hunt"), Vit and Victorius.

Album Review
Corvus Corax's album "Tausend Jahre Tanzmusik" is a captivating journey through medieval heavy metal that transports the listener to a time of ancient rituals and lively celebrations. The band's unique blend of traditional folk instruments, powerful vocals, and heavy guitar riffs creates a dynamic and immersive sound that is both nostalgic and exhilarating. Standout tracks like "Tanz, Mรคgdlein, Tanz!" and "In Taberna Secundus" showcase the band's ability to seamlessly merge medieval melodies with modern metal elements, resulting in a truly unforgettable listening experience. The production quality on this album is top-notch, with each instrument and vocal layer shining through clearly and harmoniously. "Tausend Jahre Tanzmusik" fits perfectly in Corvus Corax's discography, solidifying their reputation as pioneers of medieval metal and further cementing their place in the heavy metal scene.
