About the Band
Alcatrazz is an American rock band formed in 1983 by Graham Bonnet, Jimmy Waldo, and Gary Shea. They are best known for their songs "Island in the Sun", "Hiroshima Mon Amour", and "God Blessed Video". They are also notable for featuring a previously unknown Yngwie Malmsteen as their lead guitarist for a year, who was then replaced by Steve Vai, with whom they recorded one album. Following an internal disagreement and split in 2020, there are currently two separate and distinct Alcatrazz lineups, one featuring Bonnet, and another featuring Waldo and Shea. The band went through a number of lineup changes, with Bonnet being the only member to be in every incarnation of Alcatrazz.

Album Review
Alcatrazz's latest album 'Take No Prisoners' is a relentless onslaught of pure heavy metal power. From the ferocious opening track 'Little Viper' to the anthemic closer 'Bring on the Rawk', the band delivers a masterclass in shredding guitars, thunderous drums, and soaring vocals. Standout tracks like 'Battlelines' and 'Alcatrazz' showcase the band's technical prowess and melodic sensibilities, while 'Gates of Destiny' takes the listener on an epic journey through blistering solos and dynamic songwriting. The production quality is top-notch, allowing each instrument to shine while maintaining a raw, gritty edge. 'Take No Prisoners' is a testament to Alcatrazz's enduring legacy in the heavy metal scene, solidifying their place as one of the genre's most formidable acts.
