A History of Wucan

Formation and Early Years (2011–2013)

In 2011, the seeds of Wucan were planted in the German city of Dresden when singer Francis Tobolsky placed an ad seeking 'Blues Brothers'. Guitarist Tim George and drummer 'Pätz' heeded the call, with bassist Patrik Dröge joining the ranks in 2012. The band spent the following year honing their craft, writing songs, and playing their first live shows.

By 2013, Wucan had begun to make waves in the rock scene, releasing demos and singles on YouTube. The band's heavy 70s influenced folk rock sound, infused with stoner and doom elements, started to captivate audiences and draw comparisons to legends like Jethro Tull and Black Sabbath.

Lineup Changes and Debut EP (2014)

In 2014, Wucan faced their first lineup change when drummer 'Pätz' departed shortly after the recording of their debut EP, Vikarma. 'Ollie' stepped in as the new drummer but only stayed for six months before being replaced by 'Marc'. The band continued to evolve and refine their sound, gearing up for their first studio album.

Despite the lineup shifts, Wucan pressed forward with determination, showcasing their musical prowess and commitment to their craft. The release of Vikarma marked a significant milestone in the band's journey, setting the stage for what was yet to come.

Debut Album and Continued Growth (2015–2017)

In 2015, Wucan embarked on the creation of their debut studio album, 'Sow the Wind', released under Metalizer Records. The band's sound continued to evolve, drawing in fans with its unique blend of retro rock elements and captivating flute melodies. Wucan's live performances alongside acts like Siena Root solidified their place in the rock scene.

By 2017, Wucan had gained momentum and critical acclaim with the release of their second studio album, 'Reap the Storm'. The band's heavy 70s folk rock sound, enriched with stoner and doom influences, resonated with audiences and solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the rock world.
