Formation and Early Years (2006–2011)

While She Sleeps burst onto the metalcore scene in 2006, hailing from the gritty streets of Sheffield, England. With Lawrence Taylor taking over vocal duties in 2009, the band solidified their lineup and began crafting their signature sound.

Their early EPs, And This Is Just the Start, Split, and The North Stands for Nothing, showcased their raw talent and relentless energy. The metal community took notice, leading to their well-deserved Best British Newcomer award at the Kerrang! Awards in 2012.

Rise to Prominence (2012–2017)

While She Sleeps' debut studio album, This Is the Six, dropped in 2012, propelling them to the forefront of the metalcore scene. The follow-up, Brainwashed, further solidified their status as a force to be reckoned with.

Their relentless work ethic and dedication to their craft paid off with the release of You Are We in 2017. This album marked a turning point for the band, as they took control of their music by releasing it independently.

Experimentation and Evolution (2018–2020)

In the following years, While She Sleeps continued to push boundaries with albums like So What? and Sleeps Society. Embracing a more experimental approach, they explored new sonic territories while staying true to their metalcore roots.

Their self-titled album, Self Hell, released in 2020, showcased a band unafraid to evolve and innovate. While She Sleeps proved that they were not content to rest on their laurels, always striving to push the boundaries of their genre.
