Formation and Early Years (1999–2002)

In 1999, the progressive rock scene was shaken to its core when Transatlantic emerged as a powerhouse supergroup. Comprised of Neal Morse, Roine Stolt, Pete Trewavas, and Mike Portnoy, each member brought their own unique musical prowess to the table, drawing in fans from their respective full-time bands.

Their debut album, 'SMPT:e' released in 2000, showcased the band's incredible chemistry and musicianship. With tracks like 'All of the Above' and 'We All Need Some Light', Transatlantic quickly solidified their place in the prog rock realm. Despite their success, the band disbanded in 2002, leaving fans craving more.

Reunion and Continued Success (2009–2022)

After a seven-year hiatus, Transatlantic made a triumphant return in 2009, much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase. Releasing albums like 'The Whirlwind' in 2009 and 'Kaleidoscope' in 2014, the band proved that their musical magic hadn't faded over the years.

However, the band faced challenges with lineup changes due to illness. Daniel Gildenlöw, though not an official member, often joined them for live shows. In 2014, Ted Leonard stood in for him, showcasing the band's adaptability and commitment to their craft. Despite their resilience, Transatlantic sadly disbanded once again in 2022, leaving a void in the prog rock world.
