Formation and Early Years (1995–1999)

In 1995, Slipknot burst onto the heavy metal scene from the depths of Des Moines, Iowa. Founded by percussionist Shawn Crahan, vocalist Anders Colsefni, and bassist Paul Gray, the band underwent several lineup changes before solidifying a nine-member roster in 1999.
