A History of Serpentcult

Formation and Early Years (2006–2007)

Serpentcult rose from the ashes of Thee Plague of Gentlemen in 2006, following a tumultuous period for their former band. After a dark chapter, the remaining members regrouped as a trio and later added Michelle Nocon as their lead vocalist. Their debut EP, Trident nor Fire, released in 2007, showcased their doom metal sound with a cover of Uriah Heep's 'Rainbow Demon'.

Rise to Prominence with 'Weight of Light' (2008–2009)

In 2008, Serpentcult took the doom metal scene by storm with their debut full-length album, 'Weight of Light'. Produced by Greg Chandler and mixed by Billy Anderson, the album delved into themes of inner enlightenment and breaking away from societal norms. Tracks like 'Screams from the Deep' and 'Red Dawn' resonated with fans, leading to successful tours in Europe and the United States.

Departure of Michelle Nocon and 'Raised by Wolves' (2010–2011)

Following Michelle Nocon's departure in 2010, Serpentcult continued as a trio and released their second album, 'Raised by Wolves', in 2011. The album showcased a more meditative and subdued side of the band, with longer and intricate tracks. While the band's future seemed uncertain, their music continued to captivate listeners with its raw and powerful doom metal sound.

Although on hold since 2011, Serpentcult's legacy lives on through their impactful discography and influence on the doom metal genre. Their unique blend of heavy riffs, haunting vocals, and introspective lyrics continues to inspire metal fans around the world.
