A History of Negligence (band)

Formation and Early Years (2000–2005)

In the blistering fires of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Negligence rose from the ashes in 2000. Founded by Jan Svigelj and Domen Justin, the band quickly shifted from a side-project to a full-time thrash metal powerhouse with the addition of Mitja Lipicer and Ziga Zmazek. After struggling to find a vocalist, they settled with Lenz in 2003 and released two demos, paving the way for extensive touring across Slovenia.

Their relentless energy on stage caught the attention of metalheads everywhere, leading them to become the first band to perform at the inaugural Metal Camp festival in Tolmin. However, the lineup saw changes in 2005 when the youthful Aleks took over vocals, bringing a new ferocity to Negligence's sound.

Rise to Prominence and Major Label Signing (2007–2011)

In 2007, Negligence unleashed their debut album 'Options of a Trapped Mind' to critical acclaim. The thrash metal community hailed it as the top thrash metal album of the year, propelling the band to new heights. They embarked on tours, sharing the stage with legends like Exodus, Forbidden, and Death Angel, solidifying their place in the metal scene.

After parting ways with Domen Justin, Negligence signed with Metal Blade Records and dropped their sophomore album 'Coordinates Of Confusion' in 2010. The release was followed by a European tour supporting Artillery, showcasing their raw power and musical prowess to a wider audience.

Challenges and New Horizons (2012–2018)

Despite facing setbacks and delays, Negligence persevered and entered the studio in 2012 to work on a new album. The long-awaited release finally came in 2018 in the form of the EP 'Breaking the Fourth Wall', featuring three explosive tracks that showcased their evolution and maturity as a band.

Amidst these changes, Negligence announced the departure of Jan 'Jay' Svigelj, marking a new chapter in their journey. With a renewed sense of purpose, they continue to push boundaries and break down barriers in the world of thrash metal.
