A History of Neck Deep

Formation and Early Years (2012–2013)

In 2012, Neck Deep burst onto the pop-punk scene like a raging storm from the Welsh town of Wrexham. Vocalist Ben Barlow and lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts ignited the band's fiery spirit by posting their song 'What Did You Expect?' online under the name Neck Deep. The response was electric, leading to the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington/Abasi, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans.

With the release of their EPs 'Rain in July' in 2012 and 'A History of Bad Decisions' in 2013, Neck Deep quickly caught the attention of fans and critics alike. The band's infectious energy and raw passion laid the foundation for their future success, setting the stage for their signing with Hopeless Records in August 2013.

Rise to Fame and Lineup Changes (2014–2017)

Following the release of their debut album 'Wishful Thinking' in January 2014, Neck Deep's journey accelerated into a whirlwind of success. The band's relentless dedication to their music led them to become a full-time project, with members leaving behind their former lives to pursue their rock 'n' roll dreams.

Despite facing lineup changes, including the departure of lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts in 2015 and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans in 2018, Neck Deep's spirit remained unbroken. The release of their third album 'The Peace and the Panic' in August 2017 solidified their place in the music world, debuting at No. 4 on the US Billboard 200.

Continued Success and Evolution (2018–2020)

As Neck Deep continued to evolve and conquer new horizons, they embarked on a summer tour with legendary band Blink-182 in 2019, further cementing their status as rising stars in the rock scene. The addition of bassist Seb Barlow as an official member in February 2020 marked a new chapter in the band's history.

With the release of their fourth album 'All Distortions Are Intentional' in July 2020, Neck Deep showcased their growth and maturity as musicians. The band's self-titled fifth album, released in January 2024, stands as a testament to their enduring passion and unwavering commitment to their craft.
