Monolit Records Formation and Rise (1994–2006)

Monolit Records burst onto the Russian metal scene in 1994, founded by Anton Pronin and Yuri Slyusar with the backing of the esteemed Maxim Fadeev's Monolit production center. The label quickly established itself as one of the biggest players in the country's music industry.

Under Monolit Records, a plethora of talented artists emerged, including the likes of Gluk'oZa, Linda, Katya Lel, Serebro, Irakli, and Molly. These projects, produced by Fadeev himself, showcased the label's commitment to nurturing diverse and innovative talents.

Legal Battles and Directorship (2007–2019)

In 2007, Monolit Records faced legal challenges, losing a lawsuit filed by Andrey Razin, the founder of Laskoviy May, over alleged illegal distribution of the group's recordings. However, the same year saw a victory for the label as they successfully sued a music retailer for unauthorized distribution of albums by Gluk'oZa, Nepara, Yuliya Savicheva, and Legalize.

Yuri Slyusar, son of the former head of the Rostov Helicopter Plant, took the helm as the label's director in 2006. His leadership not only steered Monolit Records through legal battles but also saw him rise to prominence in the music industry, eventually becoming the acting governor of Rostov Oblast in November 2024.

Monolit Records Today (2020–Present)

As Monolit Records continues to thrive in the Russian music scene, the label remains a powerhouse in the industry. With a rich history of supporting talented artists and overcoming legal challenges, Monolit Records stands as a testament to the resilience and dedication of its founders and team.

Under the guidance of Yuri Slyusar, the label has not only maintained its status as one of the largest record companies in Russia but has also made significant contributions to the National Federation of Phonogram Producers, solidifying its place in the country's music landscape.

Monolit Records has left an indelible mark on the Russian music industry, showcasing a commitment to talent and innovation. With a legacy of supporting diverse artists and overcoming legal hurdles, the label's influence continues to resonate in the metal community.
