A History of Memorain

Formation and Early Years (1999–2002)

Memorain, the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Ilias Papadakis, emerged from the vibrant metal scene of Athens, Greece in 1999. After some lineup changes, the band released their first demo CD titled 'Until You Die' in 2001, showcasing their love for American heavy/thrash influences.

In August 2002, Memorain signed a two-record deal with NMC Music and unleashed their debut album 'Digital Crimes' later that year. This marked the beginning of their journey into the realm of thrash metal, setting the stage for what was to come.

Rise to Prominence (2003–2006)

In 2003, Memorain released their sophomore album 'White Line,' featuring guitar virtuoso James Murphy. The band's sound continued to evolve, drawing attention from both fans and critics alike. They also composed the music theme for Greece's premier metal TV show, TV War, solidifying their presence in the metal community.

By 2005, Memorain had signed an exclusive contract with EMI Music Greece, leading to the release of 'Reduced to Ashes' in 2006. With Nick Menza on drums and Jeff Waters as a special guest, the album showcased the band's growth and maturity, cementing their status as a force to be reckoned with in the thrash metal scene.

Evolution and Lineup Changes (2011–2014)

After a hiatus, Memorain returned to the studio in 2011 with a revamped lineup including Ralph Santolla, Chris Valagao, Steve Di Giorgio, and Gene Hoglan. The result was their fourth full-length album 'Evolution,' released in 2012. The band continued to push boundaries and experiment with their sound, showcasing their versatility and passion for metal.

In 2014, Memorain announced their eighth studio album 'Zero Hour,' further solidifying their place in the metal landscape. With a dedication to their craft and a relentless drive to create music that resonates with fans, Memorain proved that they were a force to be reckoned with.
