A History of Locrian

Formation and Early Years (2005–2008)

Locrian emerged from the dark corners of Chicago in late 2005, a trio of sonic explorers ready to push the boundaries of music. With Terence Hannum on synthesizers and vocals, Steven Hess on drums and electronics, and André Foisy on guitars and electronics, the band began their journey into the realms of experimental music and drone rock.

Drawing influences from ambient, black metal, noise, and industrial genres, Locrian quickly established their unique sound, blending haunting melodies with crushing heaviness. Their early releases set the stage for what would become a career marked by innovation and creativity.

Rise to Prominence (2009–2013)
