A History of Lament (band)

Formation and Early Years (1993–1996)

In the dark and gritty streets of Mexico City, Lament emerged in 1993 under the name Beheaded, bringing a ferocious blend of grindcore and brutal death metal to the scene. The band's original lineup consisted of Marcos Pérez on vocals, Apolos León and Benjamin Rojas on guitars, Iram Gómez on bass, and Arturo Guzman on drums.

Tragedy struck in 1996 with the untimely death of drummer Arturo Guzman, leading to a pivotal moment for the band. They decided to change their name to Lament as a tribute to their fallen brother and embarked on a new chapter in their musical journey.

Rise to Prominence and Setbacks (1997–2013)

In 1997, Lament unleashed their debut album 'Tears of a Leper,' showcasing their intense and unrelenting sound to the world. Despite facing challenges such as controversial artwork and lineup changes over the years, the band continued to push forward.
