Formation and Early Years (2004–2006)

In 2004, Sam Mehran co-founded the punk band Test Icicles, showcasing his raw talent as a musician and songwriter. The band quickly gained attention for their energetic live performances and unique sound. However, Mehran's creative vision led him to explore new musical territories beyond punk rock.

By 2006, Mehran decided to part ways with Test Icicles and focus on his solo projects. This marked the beginning of his journey into the realms of lo-fi production and experimental music.

Matrix Metals and Vaporwave Innovation (2008–2018)

Under the moniker Matrix Metals, Mehran released his first album 'Flamingo Breeze' in 2008. This album was hailed as a pioneering work of the vaporwave genre, showcasing Mehran's versatility and innovation as a musician. Despite receiving little critical notice during his lifetime, Mehran's solo work left a lasting impact on the underground music scene.

Throughout the following years, Mehran continued to push boundaries with his solo projects, including Outer Limits Recordings (OLR). His experimental approach to music and dedication to his craft solidified his reputation as a visionary artist.

Although Sam Mehran may not have been a household name in the heavy metal scene, his fearless exploration of sound and genre boundaries serves as an inspiration to aspiring musicians and fans alike. His legacy lives on through his groundbreaking work and innovative approach to music.
