Formation and Early Years (2000β2006)
Kimaera, the brainchild of vocalist and guitarist Jean-Pierre Haddad, emerged from the vibrant metal scene in Beirut, Lebanon in 2000. Blending oriental metal, doom metal, and death metal influences, the band quickly made a name for themselves with their unique sound.
In 2004, Kimaera released their self-produced single 'God's Wrath', catching the attention of Stygian Crypt Productions. This led to the release of their debut album 'Ebony Veiled' in February 2006, marking a significant milestone in the band's journey.
Rise to International Recognition (2006β2013)
With the release of 'Ebony Veiled', Kimaera solidified their position as one of the pioneers of metal in the Middle East. Known as the 'Lebanese Ambassadors of Doom', the band continued to push boundaries with their second album 'Solitary Impact' in July 2010.
In 2013, Kimaera signed with German label Eternal Sound Records and released their third album 'The Harbinger of Doom'. This marked a new chapter in their career, showcasing their growth and maturity as musicians.
Tragedy and New Beginnings (2022)
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Kimaera faced a major loss in February 2022 when lead singer Jean Pierre Haddad was found dead in his apartment in Egypt. Despite this tragedy, the band persevered and released their fourth studio album 'Imperivm' later that year.
The loss of Haddad was a devastating blow to the metal community, but Kimaera's music continues to resonate with fans worldwide, carrying on his legacy and influence in the metal scene.
