Formation and Early Years (1995–2002)

Hailing from Ε½ilina, Slovakia, Kalijuge! emerged onto the progressive metal scene in 1995. Founded by Jano Svoboda and DuΕ‘an Labuda, the band's music defied classification, blending influences from legendary acts like Kansas, Yes, and Pink Floyd with elements of funk and thrash.

In 2002, Kalijuge! released their first EP, 'New Message,' showcasing the talents of the 'old formation' lineup. With tracks that resonated with fans of progressive and symphonic metal, the band quickly gained national recognition within Slovakia's rock underground scene.

Lineup Changes and Renewal (2004–2007)

Following a series of lineup changes, only Svoboda and Labuda remained from the original formation. Despite internal conflicts and departures, the band regrouped with new members, including drummer Martin Kralik and keyboardist Barbora Lipkova. However, creative differences led to further adjustments within the band.

In 2008, Kalijuge! welcomed Spanish keyboardist Rafael MΓ‘rquez into the fold, marking a new chapter for the band. With a refreshed lineup, they returned to the stage in their hometown of Ε½ilina, signaling a resurgence in their musical journey.

Album Release and Success (2008–2009)

Throughout 2008, Kalijuge! worked tirelessly on their album release and promotional material, culminating in the debut of their first video clip in October. The following year proved to be their most successful yet, with numerous concerts in Slovakia and beyond, solidifying their presence in the progressive metal scene.

New songs were added to their repertoire, setting the stage for a promising start to 2010 as the band continued to captivate audiences with their unique blend of progressive metal and rock influences.

Kalijuge! has carved a distinctive path in the realm of progressive metal, pushing boundaries and redefining the genre with their eclectic sound. Their enduring legacy continues to inspire both fans and fellow musicians alike.
