A History of Infestum

Formation and Early Years (2000–2003)

In the frosty depths of Minsk in 2000, the dark forces of black metal converged to give birth to Infestum. With Grond on drums, Skald on guitar, Ion on vocals, and Thorngrim on bass, the band embarked on a journey of musical creation. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sepultura, Mayhem, Venom, and Bathory, Infestum recorded their first demo in 2000, unleashing a fierce sound that echoed battles of the past and the turmoil within their minds.

By the winter of 2000–2001, Infestum had already recorded their debut full-length album, 'Last Day Before the Endless Night'. This release showcased a blend of re-recorded demo tracks and new songs, setting the stage for the band's evolution into a force to be reckoned with in the black metal scene.

Ta Natas Era (2003–2007)

As the flames of creativity continued to burn, Infestum embarked on a new chapter with their album 'Ta Natas' in 2007. This release marked a departure from their Pagan metal roots, embracing a darker and more symphonic black metal sound. With haunting visuals and intense music videos like 'Razor To Throat' and 'Ta Natas', the band delved into themes of anger, pain, and despair, captivating audiences with their raw intensity.

Despite mixed reviews, 'Ta Natas' solidified Infestum's position as a band unafraid to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories. With each track dripping with darkness and melody, the album left a lasting impression on the black metal landscape.

Later Years (2007–Present)

In the wake of evolving soundscapes, Infestum saw lineup changes in 2009, welcoming guitarist Wrathtodd into their ranks. With a renewed sense of purpose, the band released the internet single 'Void of Nebulae' in 2010, followed by the EP 'Renaissance'. Infusing their music with a blend of aggression and melody, Infestum continued to captivate audiences with their unique brand of black metal.

As the years passed, Infestum's discography grew, with releases like 'Moments of Exalted' in 2014 and 'Les Rites de Passage' in 2018 showcasing the band's evolution and unwavering commitment to their craft. With each album, Infestum carved a path of darkness and despair, leaving a mark on the metal world that resonates to this day.
