A History of Hetroertzen

Formation and Early Years (1997–2009)

Hetroertzen emerged from the fiery depths of Puerto Varas, Chile in 1997, birthed by the dark mind of multi-instrumentalist Deacon D. Initially a solo project, the band evolved into a full force of black metal with the addition of guitarist Åskväder in 1999. Their early years were marked by intense creativity, leading to the recording of three albums and a series of raw, electrifying gigs in their homeland.

After a brief hiatus, Hetroertzen resurfaced in Sweden in 2009, now calling Västerås their home. It was in this new setting that they unleashed their next full-length album, 'Exaltation of Wisdom.' With Deacon D. on drums, bass, and vocals, and Åskväder on guitars, the band's sound reached new heights of darkness and mysticism.

Rise to Prominence and Lineup Changes (2010–2015)

The release of 'Exaltation of Wisdom' on Lamech Records in 2010 marked a turning point for Hetroertzen. Limited to 500 blood-numbered copies, the album garnered high praise, culminating in a powerful live performance of the entire record at Arosian Black Mass in November 2011. Lineup shifts followed, with the addition of guitarist Anubis.

In 2012, Hetroertzen joined forces with Norwegian band Dødsengel for a split album titled 'Capax Infiniti,' a release that resonated deeply with fans. The band's first European tour in 2013, alongside acts like Troll and Dødheimsgard, solidified their place in the black metal scene. The momentum continued with the well-received 'Ain Soph Aur' in 2015, released through a collaboration with multiple labels.

Global Expansion and Latest Releases (2016–2022)

Hetroertzen's sonic journey crossed the Atlantic in 2015 with exclusive shows in the US, setting the stage for their second European tour. The band's focus on crafting their next opus led to the release of 'Uprising of the Fallen' in 2017, showcasing their evolution and musical prowess. This momentum continued with a series of live performances and tours across new territories.

As the years passed, Hetroertzen remained steadfast in their dedication to the dark arts, culminating in the release of their seventh album, 'Phosphorus Vol I,' in 2022 under Listenable Records. With a rich discography and a legacy of pushing boundaries in black metal, Hetroertzen stands as a beacon of artistic integrity and sonic exploration.
