Formation and Early Years (2003–2007)

Hacavitz emerged from the depths of Querétaro City, Mexico in 2003, founded by Antimo Buonnano and Oscar García. Drawing inspiration from the Mayan god Jacawitz, the band delved into the realms of blackened death metal with their first two studio albums, 'Venganza' in 2005 and 'Katun' in 2007, both released through Moribund Records.

With lyrical themes centered around death, darkness, and pre-Hispanic mythology, Hacavitz quickly made a name for themselves in the extreme metal scene, showcasing their ferocious sound and captivating audiences with their intense live performances.

Reformation and Evolution (2010–2017)

After a brief hiatus following the release of 'Metztli Obscura' in 2010, Hacavitz returned with a renewed vigor. In 2015, they unleashed 'Darkness Beyond', marking a shift towards black metal and solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with.
