Formation and Early Years (2001–2003)

In the fiery depths of Osaka in 2001, the power metal titans known as Galneryus were born. Guitarist Syu and vocalist Yama-B were the fearless leaders, summoning a whirlwind of melodies and shredding riffs. With the addition of bassist Tsui, keyboardist Yuhki, and drummer Jun-ichi, the band unleashed their debut album in 2003, setting the metal world ablaze with their powerful sound.

Lineup Changes and Resurrection (2008–2010)

As the flames of their music burned brighter, Galneryus faced turbulent times. Yama-B departed in 2008, leaving a void that needed to be filled. Yu-To took over for Tsui in 2006, but departed the following year. The band persevered, recruiting Sho on vocals and Taka on bass. In 2010, they rose from the ashes with the release of 'Resurrection', proving their resilience and dedication to the metal cause.

Chart-Topping Success and Recognition (2016–2017)

In 2016, the rhythm section saw a change as Jun-ichi bid farewell. However, this did not deter Galneryus from reaching new heights. The following year, they unleashed 'Ultimate Sacrifice', their highest-charting studio album to date, reaching an impressive number 13. Their relentless passion and unwavering dedication earned them a spot on Loudwire's list of the 10 Best Japanese Metal Bands in 2017, solidifying their place in the annals of metal history.

Galneryus has carved a path of blazing melodies and thunderous riffs, leaving a lasting legacy in the realm of power metal. Their influence on the genre is undeniable, inspiring countless bands to embrace the spirit of epic storytelling and musical virtuosity.
