A History of Fragile Vastness

Formation and Debut Album (2000–2002)

In the fiery depths of Greece, Fragile Vastness emerged in February 2000, a quintet of musical virtuosos ready to conquer the progressive metal scene. With Babis Tsolakis on drums, Vangelis Yalamas on bass, Evi Katsamatsa on piano/keyboards, Alex Flouros on guitars, and Zacharias Tsoumos on vocals, the band unleashed their debut album 'Excerpts...' on November 19, 2002, under the banner of Sleaszy Rider Records. The accompanying video for 'Weep No More' showcased their dynamic sound and intricate compositions, setting the stage for their epic journey.

Lineup Changes and 'A Tribute To Life' (2004–2005)

As the flames of creativity burned bright, Fragile Vastness faced a pivotal moment in 2004 when Zacharias Tsoumos departed from the band. The arrival of George Ikosipentakis as the new vocalist brought a fresh energy to their ranks. With this new lineup, they unleashed their sophomore album 'A Tribute To Life' in 2005, a testament to their musical evolution and dedication to the craft. Tracks like 'Somewhere' showcased their ability to blend progressive rock and metal seamlessly.

Recent Years and 'Perception' (2017)

After years of honing their skills and captivating audiences with their live performances, Fragile Vastness returned with their album 'Perception' in 2017. The release of the music video for 'Frequencies' further solidified their place in the pantheon of progressive music. With a lineup that included talents like George Thanasoglou on guitar, Vasilis Batilas on guitar, and Elena Stratigopoulou on vocals, the band continued to push boundaries and explore new sonic landscapes.
