Formation and Early Years (2000–2004)

In the dark corners of Lebanon, a black metal force emerged in September 2000 when Filthy Fuck and Sadogoat came together to form Ayat. The addition of drummer Ayman in May 2001 completed the unholy trinity. Their first demo, Possession of Sister Clair, recorded in July 2001, quickly stirred up controversy and garnered a loyal following.

Despite lineup changes and periods of inactivity, Ayat persevered and in 2004, they announced the completion of 12 songs for their new album, 'Kill, Fuck, Brothers, and Inhale for No Black Rain Shalt Hail'. The EP 'Al Nabi Moujrem, Moughtaseb, Dajjal' was released in 2005, paving the way for their debut album 'Six Years of Dormant Hatred' in 2008.

Challenges and Resurgence (2004–2010)

Following the release of their debut album, Ayat faced challenges with lineup changes and delays in recording their second album, 'Carry on, Carrion!'. Despite setbacks, they continued to push forward with their uncompromising black metal sound.

In 2010, the band finally announced that they were in the process of recording their long-awaited second album. However, it would take several more years before 'Carry on, Carrion!' saw the light of day, finally being released in November 2017.

Musical Style and Controversy

Ayat's music polarized critics, with some hailing it as genius while others dismissed it as garbage. Their uncompromising stance on themes of annihilation, mistreatment, and mayhem set them apart in the black metal scene.
