A History of Arashk (band)

Formation and Early Years (2001–2004)

In the heart of Tehran, Iran, the seeds of Arashk were planted in 2001 by vocalist/guitarist Pouyan Khajavi and drummer Shahram Khosraviani. These two visionaries set out to create a unique sound that would blend elements of progressive metal, rock in opposition, and Persian rock.

By 2004, the band welcomed Salim Ghazi Saeedi into their ranks, solidifying their lineup and pushing their musical boundaries even further. Arashk's live performances at universities in Iran began to garner attention, showcasing their innovative fusion of genres.

Album Releases and Inactivity (2006–2008)

The years 2006 to 2008 saw Arashk unleash a series of groundbreaking albums. From the instrumental complexities of 'Abrahadabra' to the fusion of Arabian and Iranian influences in 'Sovereign' and 'Ustuqus-al-Uss', the band carved a path of musical exploration like no other.

Their final release in 2008, 'YELL', showcased a shift towards hard rock with Persian vocals, culminating in a powerful blend of traditional poetry and modern metal. Unfortunately, limited live performance opportunities in Iran led to the band's inactivity after this release.
