Formation and Early Years (2004–2008)

Founded by the mastermind Mahyar Dean, a virtuoso musician and author, the band initially set out as a progressive metal/instrumental project. However, with the addition of vocalist Ashkan Yazdani, their sound evolved into a captivating blend of power metal and progressive metal.

Their debut album, 'Rising from Apadana', released in 2008, marked a significant milestone for Angband. Mahyar Dean's intricate guitar work and bass lines, combined with Ramin Rahimi's thunderous drumming, showcased the band's unique sound to the world. This release also made history as Angband became the first heavy metal band from Iran to sign with an international record label, Pure Steel Records.

The Quest for Musical Excellence (2009–2012)

As Angband continued their musical journey, they embarked on a quest for excellence that led them to new heights. The release of their second album, 'Visions of the Seeker', in 2010, solidified their place in the global metal scene. Collaborating with renowned producer Achim Kohler, the band honed their sound, blending power metal anthems with progressive intricacies.

With the arrival of bassist Farshad Shokuhfar, Angband's sonic landscape expanded even further. The release of 'Saved from the Truth' in 2012 showcased the band's evolution, with progressive influences taking center stage. The album received critical acclaim, establishing Angband as a force to be reckoned with in the metal world.

Rebirth and Resilience (2017–2020)

In a period of rebirth and resilience, Angband faced lineup changes with the departure of vocalist Ashkan Yazdani and bassist Farshad Shokuhfar. However, the band rose from the ashes with the addition of Tim Aymar as the new singer. Their fourth album, aptly titled 'IV', released in 2020 after a three-year journey plagued by challenges.

Despite the obstacles, 'IV' showcased Angband's unwavering dedication to their craft. The album's release marked a triumphant return for the band, with their signature blend of power metal, progressive elements, and Persian folk influences shining through in every note.
