In their journey to the top, Architects achieved significant milestones. Their ninth album, ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’, marked their first No.1 spot in the UK charts in March 2021. This success was further amplified with the release of their 11th studio album, ‘The Sky, the Earth & All Between’, showcasing the band’s enduring legacy over two decades.
Architects’ inception in 2004 saw the Searle brothers joined by Matt Johnson, Tim Hillier-Brook, and Tim Lucas. The band underwent name changes before settling on Architects. After the departure of Johnson and Lucas, Alex and Sam joined, leading to the release of their second album, ‘Ruin’, in 2007, followed by ‘Hollow Crown’ in 2009, their first to chart on the UK Album Chart.
‘The Here and Now’ in 2011 marked another milestone, securing the band’s place on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. Architects’ global presence expanded through tours with renowned bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Parkway Drive, solidifying their fan base across continents.
Architects’ discography continued to flourish with releases like ‘Daybreaker’ in 2012, accompanied by a world tour capturing the band’s musical journey. The band’s mainstream breakthrough came with ‘Lost Forever // Lost Together’ in 2014, earning critical acclaim and the Best Album title at the Kerrang! Awards.
The band faced a profound loss in 2016 with the passing of Tom Searle, a devastating blow that challenged the band’s future. Despite the tragedy, Architects persevered, releasing ‘Holy Hell’ in 2018, which topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and garnered accolades for its emotional depth.
Architects’ resilience shone through as they embarked on major tours, including a monumental performance at London’s Wembley Arena in 2019. The band’s commitment to their craft remained unwavering, exemplified by their poignant single ‘Doomsday’ and subsequent success with ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’ in 2021.
Continuing their musical evolution, Architects unveiled ‘The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit’ in 2022, showcasing their versatility and growth as a band. The subsequent European tours in 2023 and 2024 further solidified their global presence, captivating audiences across diverse regions.
With the release of ‘The Sky, the Earth & All Between’ in 2025, Architects soared to new heights, securing a remarkable second spot on the UK album chart. The band’s unwavering dedication to their craft and poignant storytelling continues to resonate with fans worldwide, cementing their status as metalcore titans.
