Trivium, the American heavy metal band, has announced their upcoming EP titled ‘Struck Dead.’ Scheduled for release on October 31 through Roadrunner Records, the EP features the recently released single ‘Bury Me With My Screams.’ The band’s bassist, Paolo Gregoletto, shared insights into the EP’s creation process, mentioning their collaboration with designer Roger D’Arcy and the influence of their tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Ascendancy.’
Gregoletto revealed that what initially began as a plan to release a single during the tour expanded into a three-song EP as they continued to write new material. The creative energy from revisiting ‘Ascendancy’ and lead vocalist Matt Heafy’s personal struggles from the past year profoundly shaped the new songs. The band used the writing process as a form of release, culminating in a project they are immensely proud of.
The EP’s tracklist includes ‘Bury Me With My Screams,’ ‘Struck Dead (Pain Is Easier To Remember),’ and ‘Six Walls Surround Me.’ Trivium is set to headline the Bloodstock Open Air Festival, where they will debut ‘Bury Me With My Screams’ live.
Trivium’s journey in creating ‘Struck Dead’ was a year-long endeavor that intertwined with their tour activities and personal experiences. The EP’s thematic depth and emotional resonance reflect a band that has evolved over two decades in the metal scene. Trivium’s ability to channel personal struggles into their music underscores the cathartic power of heavy metal as a genre.
As Trivium prepares to unleash their new EP to the world, fans can anticipate a blend of raw emotion, musical prowess, and a nod to their iconic album ‘Ascendancy.’ The EP promises to be a testament to Trivium’s enduring legacy in the metal landscape and a showcase of their continued growth as artists.
