His dedication paid off as he steadily improved, eventually shooting in the 70s and then the 80s. Although financial constraints prevented him from competing in major amateur tournaments, James secured a scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State, where he honed his skills and achieved success on the golf course. However, setbacks like a broken wrist and trigger thumb threatened to derail his aspirations of turning professional.
James persevered through these challenges, adjusting his grip and overcoming physical ailments to continue pursuing his dream. His breakthrough came when he made it through PGA Tour Americas Q School, followed by a strong performance at Korn Ferry Q School, earning him a spot in the 2025 Korn Ferry season. With unwavering support from sponsors and the belief of his parents, James found himself on the brink of realizing his professional golfing ambitions.
Despite juggling two jobs – golf and accounting – James remains focused on establishing himself as a full-time golfer. Balancing financial stability with his competitive drive, he aims to repay his investors and establish a long-lasting career in the sport.
