It was there that he witnessed the birth of what would later become At The Gates, then known as Grotesque. As their friendship grew, Stanne and Lindberg bonded over their shared love for extreme music and their mutual exploration of different bands. Stanne emphasized Lindberg’s pivotal role in shaping the Gothenburg death metal scene, highlighting his influence as a central figure who inspired and connected artists within the community.

Despite initial hopes for his recovery, Lindberg’s condition worsened in recent months, leading to his untimely passing. Stanne lamented the challenging journey Lindberg faced and the collective optimism for his recovery that ultimately faded away.
