Kardashev, the US deathgaze band, has recently unveiled their latest single, “Seed of the Night,” taken from their upcoming album titled “Alunea.” Scheduled for release on April 25th, 2025, through Metal Blade Records, the album marks a significant progression in the band’s musical journey.
Described by lead vocalist Mark Garrett as a more experimental and progressive endeavor compared to their previous works, “Alunea” consists of eight tracks that intricately weave together atmospheric and emotional elements with the intensity of death metal. The album serves as a continuation of the narrative introduced in the band’s earlier release, “The Almanac.”
Notable features of “Alunea” include guest appearances by Erin of Genital Shame on the track “Speak Silence” and Pawel JJ Przybysz, contributing with the Armenian wind instrument on “We Could Fold The Stars.” The album’s production, mixing, and mastering were expertly handled by Zack Ohren, known for his work with Entheos, Machine Head, Demon King, and Fallujah. Additionally, the captivating cover art for the album was crafted by Karl E.
The tracklist for “Alunea” includes songs like “Reunion,” “A Precipice. A Door.,” “Speak Silence,” “Truth to Form,” “Edge of Forever,” “We Could Fold the Stars,” and “Below Sun & Soil.” Each track promises a unique sonic experience that showcases the band’s evolution and artistic depth.
