Ice Nine Kills Unveils ‘A Work of Art’ for Terrifier Series

Ice Nine Kills, known for their fusion of horror cinema and heavy metal, have unveiled the official track for the third installment of the Terrifier film series. Titled “A Work of Art,” the song was released in over 300 theaters alongside back-to-back screenings of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3. Directed by Damien Leone, the slasher film continues the cult following of the gruesome franchise.

The band’s collaboration with director Jensen Noen resulted in a 14-minute cinematic music video featuring Art the Clown, portrayed by David Howard Thornton, along with other cast members from the Terrifier series. Notable appearances include Jose Mangin, Richard Christy, and Shavo Odadjian of System Of A Down, who also contributed bass to the track. Ice Nine Kills’ frontman, Spencer Charnas, expressed excitement about being part of the Terrifier legacy and capturing the essence of Art the Clown in their music.

Charnas described the experience as stepping into a horror playground, aligning the band’s energy with the dark themes of the film franchise. The extended music video, showcased in theaters after special screenings, signifies a new era for Ice Nine Kills. Charnas teased fans with the promise of a terrifying and glorious offering in “A Work of Art,” hinting at more horrors to come.

The release of “A Work of Art” coincides with Ice Nine Kills’ inclusion in Metallica’s M72 World Tour in 2025, where they will join Limp Bizkit for stadium performances. The band’s participation in Metallica’s tour underscores their rising prominence in the metal scene and their ability to captivate audiences with their unique blend of music and horror-inspired visuals.

Ice Nine Kills’ success with their latest single reflects a broader trend in the metal industry, where bands are exploring new avenues to engage fans and create immersive experiences. By intertwining music with cinematic storytelling, Ice Nine Kills has carved a niche for themselves, appealing to both metal enthusiasts and horror aficionados.

As the band continues to push boundaries and expand their creative horizons, their collaboration with renowned filmmakers and musicians demonstrates a commitment to delivering innovative content that resonates with diverse audiences. Ice Nine Kills’ ability to merge music and visual storytelling sets them apart in a competitive music landscape, cementing their position as pioneers of a new wave of horror-infused metal.
