A History of Haunt

Haunt is a modern heavy metal band that has quickly made a name for themselves in the metal scene. Formed in 2017 by Trevor William Church, Haunt has gained a dedicated following with their classic and melodic approach to heavy metal. Drawing inspiration from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Haunt has carved out a niche for themselves in the crowded metal landscape.

Trevor William Church, the mastermind behind Haunt, is no stranger to the world of heavy metal. As the son of legendary heavy metal vocalist and musician Bill “The Electric” Church, Trevor was exposed to the genre at an early age. Growing up surrounded by the sounds of bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, Trevor developed a deep love and appreciation for heavy metal music.

In 2017, Trevor decided to form Haunt as a solo project, writing and recording all the music himself. The band’s debut EP, “Luminous Eyes,” was released in 2017 and immediately caught the attention of metal fans and critics alike. With its catchy riffs, soaring vocals, and vintage sound, “Luminous Eyes” set the stage for what was to come from Haunt.

Following the success of the debut EP, Trevor enlisted a full band to bring Haunt’s music to the stage. With the addition of John Tucker on drums, Daniel Wilson on bass, and John William Tucker on guitar, Haunt was ready to take the metal world by storm. The band’s debut full-length album, “Burst Into Flame,” was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, solidifying Haunt as a force to be reckoned with in the metal scene.

One of the defining characteristics of Haunt’s music is their ability to blend classic heavy metal influences with a modern sensibility. Drawing inspiration from bands like Angel Witch, Diamond Head, and Thin Lizzy, Haunt creates a sound that is both familiar and fresh. With catchy hooks, blistering solos, and powerful vocals, Haunt’s music is a celebration of all that is great about heavy metal.

In the years since their formation, Haunt has released several more albums and EPs, including “If Icarus Could Fly” in 2019 and “Mind Freeze” in 2020. Each release has further solidified the band’s place in the metal pantheon, earning them a dedicated fanbase around the world.

Haunt’s live shows are a testament to their love of heavy metal music. With high-energy performances and a genuine passion for their craft, Haunt brings their music to life on stage in a way that few bands can match. Whether they are playing in small clubs or on festival stages, Haunt’s live shows are a must-see for any metal fan.

As they continue to grow and evolve as a band, Haunt shows no signs of slowing down. With their dedication to their craft, their love of classic heavy metal, and their undeniable talent, Haunt is poised to become one of the premier bands in the metal scene for years to come.
